reflective entrance

Our clients approached us to design a covered entrance for their home, which had no protection upon arrival. They requested that the new structure blend into the existing landscape and maximize light into the home. We designed a gateway to the home comprised of two main components: a steel structural frame and a mirror-finished suspended canopy. This strategy gave us an unobstructed plane that we turned into a pool of reflection when clad in mirror-finished stainless steel. These surfaces effectively bounce natural light into the home's interior and "paint" the entry with its surroundings.
